Ways & Means Dems Say FTAs Should Not Hold Up Trade Agenda

On March 1, 2011, House Ways and Means Ranking Member Levin (D) and Trade Subcommittee Ranking Member McDermott (D) issued a statement criticizing the Republicans for "holding up the trade agenda." According to Levin, the Administration’s implementation language for the South Korea FTA is nearly complete and it should be sent to the Congress promptly.

Levin also urged Republicans to move forward on the Andean Trade Preference Act, the Generalized System of Preferences and the Trade Adjustment Assistance program as they are “ready for action” and should not be delayed due to the FTAs. Press release available by emailing documents@brokerpower.com.
