USTR Gives Deadline for Comments on ITC Analysis of Thai GSP Waivers

The International Trade Commission is readying to release a public report in late August on the effects of waivers on competitive need limitations for two Thai products in the Generalized System of Preferences, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative said. In early July, USTR launched its review on CNLs in GSP, at which point it slated nearly 100 products for removal from the program (see 1507060025). The ITC report reviews the following two Thai products that exceeded the 50 percent import-share threshold in 2014:

Those products will be cut from GSP eligibility unless the Obama administration grants a waiver. The ITC previously said the report is due to USTR by Aug. 28 (see 1507130071). USTR directs stakeholders to comment through www.regulations.gov, docket number USTR-2015-0007.
