Canadian Government Notices as of Nov. 30

The government of Canada recently issued the following trade-related notices as of Nov. 30 (some may also be given separate headlines):

CITT continues order for seamless carbon or alloy steel oil gas well casing from China. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal on Nov. 28 continued its order made on March 11, 2013, in Expiry Review No. RR-2012-002, concerning the dumping and subsidizing of seamless carbon or alloy steel oil and gas well casing from China. CITT found that if the order were to expire, injury to the domestic industry is likely to result. The Canada Border Services Agency will therefore continue to impose antidumping and countervailing duties on the products from China.
CBSA issues statement of reasons for certain sucker rods from China. The Canada Border Services Agency on Nov. 29 issued its Statement of Reasons concerning the final determinations made Nov. 14 with respect to the dumping and subsidizing of certain sucker rods originating in or exported from China (see 1811140001).
Tobacco and Vaping Products Act updated information. The Canada Border Services Agency on Nov. 28 issued a revised Customs Notice 18-05, which advises that the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act entered into force on May 23, 2018. The TVPA serves to establish the rules around the manufacture, sale, labeling and promotion of tobacco and vaping products‎. Specific requirements for importation of vaping products into Canada depend on the ingredients and/or purpose of the products imported. For more information see the Health Canada website.
Product Recalls: MPS Canada Corporation recalls various consumer chemical products in pressurized containers manufactured in various countries within the European Union, for hazard labeling not up to Canadian standards; CLS Sales Inc. recalls wind-up fish and lion toys with wheels manufactured in China, for choking hazard.
