Canadian Government Notices as of Jan. 31

The government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices as of Jan. 31 (note that some may also be given separate headlines):

CBSA extends investigations for certain corrosion-resistant steel sheet. The Canada Border Services Agency announced Jan. 30 it has extended the time period for making preliminary determinations with respect to the investigations into the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of certain corrosion-resistant steel sheet originating in or exported from Turkey, Vietnam, and the United Arab Emirates.
New sanctions on individuals involved in illegitimate elections in Crimea. Minister of Foreign Affairs François-Philippe Champagne announced that Canada joins the U.S. and the European Union in imposing sanctions, under the Special Economic Measures Act, on six individuals involved in the illegitimate elections held in Russia-occupied Crimea on Sept. 8, 2019.
Product Recalls: Randy’s Black Label Cleaner manufactured in the United States recalled, for lack of Canadian bilingual labeling and hazard information; Pier 1 desk chairs, in various collections, manufactured in China recalled, for fall hazard; VARIDESK Stand2Learn adjustable-height stools manufactured in Taiwan recalled, for fall hazard.
