Canadian Government Notices as of Oct. 14

The Canada government issued the following trade-related notices as of Oct. 14 (some may also be given separate headlines):

• CITT initiates final injury inquiry for heavy plate. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal on Oct. 13 initiated an inquiry to determine whether the dumping of heavy plate originating in or exported from Taiwan, Germany and Turkey has caused injury or retardation or is threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry. This final injury inquiry was initiated after the Canada Border Services Agency found in a preliminary determination that dumping of the subject goods was occurring. CITT will make a determination by Feb. 5, 2021, on the question of injury.
• CBSA issues notice of normal value review for carbon steel fasteners. The Canada Border Services Agency has initiated a normal value review to update the normal values and export prices applicable to carbon steel fasteners originating in or exported from Taiwan by Jau Yeou Industry Co., Ltd. The review is part of the CBSA's enforcement (see 2004100001) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal's order issued on Sept. 2, 2020, with respecting to the dumping of fasteners originating in or exported from Taiwan, and the subsidizing of such goods, originating in or exported from China, excluding fasteners specifically designed for application in the automotive or aerospace industry.
