Canadian Government Notices as of Nov. 18

The Canada government issued the following trade-related notice as of Nov.18 (some may also be given separate headlines):

• CITT finds injury in dumping of corrosion-resistant steel sheet from Turkey, Vietnam. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal on Nov. 16 found that the dumping of corrosion-resistant flat-rolled steel sheet products of carbon steel, originating in or exported from Turkey and Vietnam, and the subsidizing of the aforementioned goods, originating in or exported from Turkey, have caused injury to the domestic industry. Antidumping and countervailing duties will therefore be collected by the Canada Border Services Agency. CITT also found that the volume of the dumped goods, originating in or exported from the United Arab Emirates, and the volume of subsidized goods, originating in or exported from the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam, are negligible. CITT therefore terminated its inquiry with respect to those goods.
• Determination of when goods are entitled to U.S. or Mexico tariff benefits under CUSMA. The Canada Border Services Agency on Nov. 18 issued Memorandum D11-435, which describes the determination of when goods are entitled to benefit from the United States Tariff or the Mexico Tariff under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), known as USMCA in the U.S.
• Product Recalls: Ripline Outdoor Zipline manufactured in China recalled, for fall hazard; JAKKS Pacific Morfboard Skate & Skoot Combo with Y Handlebar manufactured in China recalled, for fall hazard.
