Canadian Government Notices as of Jan. 4

The government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices as of Jan. 4 (some may also be given separate headlines):

• CBSA issues statement of reasons in initiation of investigations for certain grinding media from India. The Canada Border Services Agency issued a statement of reasons concerning the initiation of investigations into the dumping and subsidizing of certain grinding media originating in or exported from India. The agency initiated the investigations on Dec. 17 regarding the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of the subject goods.
• CITT announces its finding with regard to oil country tubular goods. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal continued its finding made April 2, 2015, in Inquiry No. NQ‑2014‑002, concerning the dumping of oil country tubular goods from Taiwan, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam. The tribunal found that expiration of the finding with respect to subject goods from these countries is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry. The tribunal also rescinded its finding with respect to the subject goods from the Philippines following the CBSA determination that the expiration of the finding is unlikely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping. The CBSA will therefore continue to impose antidumping duties on subject goods, except for the goods from the Philippines.
• Product Recall: Westinghouse Indoor Ceiling Fans manufactured in China recalled, for safety hazard from failure to meet Canadian Standards Association specification requirements.
