Canadian Government Notices as of Jan. 25

The government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices as of Jan. 25 (some may also be given separate headlines):

• CBSA issues Statement of Reasons in dumping of heavy plate from Turkey. The Canada Border Services Agency on Jan. 22 issued its Statement of Reasons concerning the termination of its dumping investigation of heavy plate exported from Turkey by Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikaları T.A.S. and its final determination of dumping of certain hot-rolled carbon steel heavy plate and high-strength low-alloy heavy steel plate from Taiwan and Germany. The termination and the determination of dumping decisions were both made Jan. 7. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s inquiry into the question of injury to the Canadian industry is continuing, and it will issue its decision by Feb. 5, 2021. Provisional duties will continue to be imposed on the subject goods from Taiwan and Germany until CITT makes its decision.
• Product Recall: Various All-in-One disposable cannabis vape pens manufactured in Canada with mechanical device manufactured in China recalled, for mechanical issue posing excessive heat hazard.
