Plaintiff Dismisses Fraud Case Against Anker Without Prejudice

Plaintiff Ryan Blodgett voluntarily dismissed without prejudice a fraud case against Anker, said a Friday notice (docket 2:22-cv-1816) in U.S. District Court for Western Washington in Seattle. Blodgett sued Anker in January (see 2301050018), alleging breach of contract and violation of the Federal Wiretap Act. Anker made “false and misleading” claims about cloud storage with its eufy security cameras, the complaint alleged. Sales information for eufy products didn’t disclose that Anker stored customers’ data in the cloud vs. locally on devices and that the cameras transmitted data without encryption, the complaint said.
