Plaintiff Consented to Calls Related to Her Account, Says Montgomery Ward
Montgomery Ward denies plaintiff Sophia De La Torre’s allegations of Telephone Consumer Protection Act wrongdoing, but admits she did contact the online retailer June 23 asking that the calls stop, said Ward’s answer Monday (docket 3:23-cv-00484) in U.S. District Court for Western Wisconsin in Madison. De La Torre’s July 20 complaint alleged Ward hounded her with at least 20 debt collection calls after being told to stop (see 2307200002), but Ward denied that in its answer. De La Torre’s fails to state a claim upon which relief can be granted, and she “consented to the contacts related to her account,” it said.
