GSP and AGOA Hearing Scheduled in Senate
The Senate Finance Committee will hold a hearing on renewing and revitalizing the Generalized System of Preferences benefits program, the African Growth and Opportunity Act and other trade preference programs on June 5 at 10 a.m.
Senators will hear from Corporate Council on Africa, an apparel firm and AGOA user SanMar Corporation, Global Labor Justice, and the Cato Institute, a think tank that supports free trade.
The House Ways and Means Committee recommended a GSP renewal on a party-line vote last month.
