USTR List New Requirements for 301 Ship-to-Shore Cranes Certificate Designation

CBP is setting new requirements for imports of ship-to-shore cranes pursuant to upcoming changes to Section 301 tariffs on the cranes recently announced by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, according to a Sept. 18 cargo systems message from the agency.

The requirements include a new Importer’s Additional Declaration Type Code 10 (301 Ship-to-Shore Crane Certification Designation) on the 54-record that will be required when the Entry Summary line is accompanied by an Importer Certification for ship-to-shore cranes, CBP said. The requirements also include new validations.

USTR announced the changes in a Sept. 18 Federal Register notice. The updates will be deployed to the Certification and Production environments Sept. 26, and go into effect Sept. 27.

The ACE CATAIR Entry Summary Create/Update and Error Dictionary and the Document Image System XML Implementation Guide also will be updated once it's posted to CBP.gov, according to CBP.
