October ACE Schedule Defines Target Date for Mass Processing, Updates Deadlines

CBP has defined two dates in late October for when the agency expects to have enhancements ready for two initiatives, one related to the processing of multiple entry summaries and the other related to unarchiving a previous collection to make an adjustment, according to CBP's National Development & Deployment Schedule for October.

Updates include the following:

• Providing Oct. 24 as the date for when the mass processing and mass revert would take place. This enhancement enables CBP users to simultaneously update multiple entry summaries to a specific version number or their most recent version number. CBP initially set November as the date for when this enhancement would be ready.
• Defining Oct. 26 as the date for when the enhancement “ACE Collections - Unarchive Collection Request via User Interface (UI)” would be ready. This enhancement enables authorized users to unarchive a previous collection for the purpose of making an adjustment, using that collection.
• Naming October as the target deployment for the “ACE Collections – Treasury Forfeiture Fund Refunds Accounting” enhancement, which enables authorized users to add a cash receipt number to a collection. CBP previously said this enhancement would be ready in September.
• Designating April 1 as the target deployment date for “Disabling Submission of CBP Form 1302A Cargo Declaration – Outward with Commercial Forms in Document Image System (DIS).” This enhancement will, for outward vessels, “disable the option to submit CBP Form 1302A Cargo Declaration – Outward with Commercial Forms in the Document Image System (DIS). The use of DIS was offered as an interim step to the development of a fully electronic export ocean manifest.”
• Extending the target deployment date of the “Addition of Free Text Field for Providing Global Business Identifier (GBI) Party Type Information” enhancement from April to June. This enhancement, related to RFD CBP-142, adds a text field associated with party types that will allow filers to input additional descriptions about the party/GBI number provided.
• Extending the target deployment date of the “Updated Requirements for Global Business Identifier (GBI) Enrollment” from April to June. This enhancement expands the GBI Evaluative Proof of Concept (EPoC) enrollment process by enabling trade users to submit one, two or all three of the global identifiers for any party type that traders identify within their GBI enrollment submission.

CBP conveyed that the October ACE schedule was publicly available via an Oct. 11 cargo systems message.
