Tech Industry’s Online Safety Coalition Announces International Safety Standard

The Digital Trust & Safety Partnership on Thursday announced formal publication of its Safe Framework Specification as an international standard. Joint Technical Committee 1 of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) developed the standard (ISO/IEC 25389).

“This new international standard provides a framework to help ensure a safer online experience when using digital products and services,” said David Sullivan, executive director of the partnership, which includes Apple, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Reddit and TikTok.
